چکیده

The disposal of industrial and mineral processing residues represents a major concern for human health the environment as whole. In order to reduce impact on soil groundwater due waste leachability, implementation environmental regulations worldwide has favored conversion techniques from wet dry (i.e., stacking or disposal). Such change in storage practice may cause increase particulate matter (PM) emission surfaces tailings exposed wind erosion. Considering significance issue global scale increasingly stricter orientation policies, need modeling tools capable estimating contribution tailing basins air pollution becomes apparent. paper deals with red mud resulting bauxite alumina industry. An experimental research was carried an tunnel estimate Emission Factor (EF) basin function main affecting variables residue water content velocity). article reports results test out located Sardinia (Italy).

An Assessment of Wind Erosion Schemes in Dust Emission Simulations over the Middle East

Extended abstract 1- INTRODUCTION        Atmospheric aerosols, solid and liquid particles in the atmosphere, play a crucial role in the atmospheric radiation equilibrium. These particles have an influence on the scattering and absorption of short wavelength radiation, and on the other hand, affect radiation absorption and emission in long wavelengths. Dust particles are among the importan...

Effects of Wind Erosion and Soil Salinization on Dust Storm Emission in Western Iran

Dust storms are known as hazardous problems in western part of Iran. Iraq is one of the main sources for dust storm arriving to the western part of Iran. The Radial Basis Function Network model (RBFN) has been used to assess wind erosion hazards in the source area of dust storms over several western Iranian cities. Normalized Difference Salinity Index (NDSI) was used to determine the changes in...
